SHEET FEEDER SFI 108/145 L
Feeder with table, feeding the sheets in an underlapped manner.
The feeder sucks the sheets from the rear end and is equipped with a pile plate allowing lateral adjustment of the stack. Adjustable lateral blower nozzles creating an air cushion under the sheet and guaranteeing a proper sheet by sheet feeding even at high speeds.
With double sheet control.

SHEET ALIGNMENT UNIT
The sheets run continuously underlapped into the sheet alignment unit, adjusted against the front stops to the required underlap for laminating laterally aligned by a mechanical side lay device (operating side) and then accelerated to production speed.

DOUBLE SHEET CLEANING WITH BRUSH AND CALENDER
a) Cleaning brush with suction fan and filter
Two counter rotating brushes with integrated dust extraction system and dust filter clean the substrate surface from any loose impurities.
b) Sheet cleaning calendar
The calendar is used for cleaning the surface of the sheet from contamination (anti set-off powder, etc.).
A heated chrome roller picks up particles and simultaneously calendars the sheets by means of the corresponding pressure. A doctoring system cleans the chrome roller continuously. This results in a lower consumption of adhesive.

LAMINATING UNIT WITH FILM UNROLLING, GLUE COATING UNIT,
LAMINATING CALENDER AND SHEET SEPARATOR
Laminating unit, consisting of:
- film unreeling system
- film slitter and rest film reeling
- automatic adhesive feeding and dosing
- adhesive application
- scissor platform for easy access
- electronically controlled film tension
- chromed laminating cylinder and rubberised counter pressure roller
- HOT KNIFE rotating sheet separator
Automatic adhesive feeding, heating and dosing system
- glue pumping system for 200 l drum, with heated follower plate
- heated feed pipe with automatically controlled adhesive valve
- level control for the adhesive sump
Adhesive coating unit
Permitting the even application of a defined amount of adhesive of 1.8 - 4.0 g/m2 at a working temperature of
70 – 90° C and consisting of:
- adjustable gap roller
- speed regulated dosing roller for the desired amount of adhesive
- transfer roller
- application roller
- automatically engaging pressure roller for the adhesive application
- safety cover with integrated aspiration system for the adhesive sump
Laminating unit
Consisting of chrome plated steel roller and rubbered counter pressure roller, both being motorized independently. The laminating rollers are not heated and guarantee in connection with the provided adjustable gap setting an absolute lay-flat of the substrates independent of their weight. This ensures a high counter pressure and a low lamination pressure, avoiding sheet distortion.
Sheet separating unit “Hot-Knife”
An electronically controlled rotary “Hot-Knife” situated immediately after the laminating station separates the film sheet by sheet, independent of the film width and machine speed. The accuracy of the separation is within ± 1 mm.

SHEET STACKER
For stacking the separated laminated paper / board sheets. The pile formation is controlled by front and rear stops and two side joggers
- Sheet profiling system for paper sheets below 180 g/m2
- Pneumatically operated sheet brake
- Controlled blowing air from the rear and top for fast sheet stacking
- Pneumatically controlled side joggers for stack formation
- Pile level monitoring by means of adjustable capacitive proximity switch.

CONTROL SYSTEM
The machine is equipped with a test value and a programmable monitoring system. The locally mounted supervision units and drive systems are interconnected to the main controller by an Ethernet link. The installed Touch Panel with colour display panel is used for the operation of the complete machine. Additional local operating controls allow where needed precise access to the corresponding machine module.
A clear schematic operation display guides the operator during the whole set-up, production and cleaning process cycle, using colour indications and text windows.
The also included job management system allows the memorizing of the machine settings in case of a recurring job.
On desire the complete machine management system can be retrofitted or supplied on demand.
The simple menu control with colour indication and text windows supports the operator. The error diagnosis is supported by the system.

TOUCH PANEL OPERATION
Schematic display of the operating cycle. Settings ad adjustments are made by the simple touch of screen. The status of the machine is indicated in a colour code.
